Overview

Diving in the Dominican Republic is an unforgettable experience. Paradise isn't just on the surface; beneath the waters of Catalina Island, you can dive and discover the wonders of the Caribbean.

Located in the southeast of the Dominican Republic, a few kilometers from La Romana, Catalina Island is the second largest island after Saona Island. It boasts 15 square kilometers of pristine white-sand beaches fringed by palm groves. A true natural paradise !

Of course, your visit to the island isn't just about exploring it on the surface; you can also dive into its crystal-clear waters to discover the marine flora and fauna of the Caribbean Sea. The island and its surrounding waters are part of the East National Park , and since it's practically uninhabited, you can enjoy a completely relaxing experience amidst pristine natural landscapes. There, you can enjoy activities such as snorkeling, diving, and fishing.

On the island, El Muro and El Acuario are two of the best diving spots in the entire Dominican Republic. Very different from each other, they have gained worldwide recognition from all those who have explored their waters.

At El Muro, you can enjoy a 100-meter wall that plunges into the depths of the Caribbean Sea. Its two sections, at 25 and 40 meters, are accessible on a dive that progresses gradually.

The Aquarium sounds like an artificial name, but this natural place is in the open ocean and appears to be man-made. This aquarium is home to a coral reef and is home to a wide variety of fauna, including thousands of colorful fish such as lionfish, frogfish, and seahorses.

The waters of Catalina Island await you!

What does the Catalina Island Scuba Diving Excursion include?

The diving excursion to Catalina Island departs every day except Sunday, starting very early in the morning. It lasts approximately 8 hours and includes diving equipment and two dives: one at The Wall (30 meters) and the other at The Aquarium (11 meters).

This is for those with a PADI scuba diving certification , but if you don’t have one, a first dive with an instructor is included in the price. If you already have a certification, and depending on your level ( Open Water or Advanced ), you can go directly to the most interesting underwater areas with our instructors.

La Romana is usually the departure point for our catamaran trip to Catalina Island. Drinks are included in the excursion, and our entertainment team will keep you entertained throughout the journey.

Once on the island at lunchtime, the reservation includes an all-you-can-eat buffet with typical Dominican food, local drinks, and snorkeling equipment if you’d like to explore the crystal-clear waters of Catalina Island. The excursion also includes the scuba diving equipment you’ll need to bring during the dives: life jackets, fins, and masks .

We also want to remind you that the price may vary depending on whether you have previous diving experience, as if you do not, an instructor will have to accompany you throughout the dive.

If you have experience, the monitors will also be there for whatever you need.
