What can we see in Monkeyland?
The excursion begins with a safari truck ride into the Punta Cana countryside, arriving at a typical country house . There, we’ll interact with the residents, observing how they live off the land and the products they harvest. At this coffee and cacao plantation, you can also enjoy a good roasted coffee or the organic cacao they produce.
After this experience, we’ll continue our adventure to the second stop, Monkeyland Garden, observing the island’s native flora while our guide explains some of its secrets. Then, we’ll spend 45 minutes interacting with the playful squirrel monkeys that inhabit the park and are eager to greet visitors.
These monkeys are used to interacting with people. In fact, they have been trained by expert caretakers who have worked with these animals for decades, teaching them to trust humans and enjoy their company. Some of them will even dare to jump onto visitors’ shoulders to eat from their hands.
Of course, you have to be careful with shiny objects, as they might try to grab anything that catches their eye. Otherwise, they enjoy posing for photos, and you’ll surely see them sitting and looking at the camera in some of the pictures.
